Exercise for Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease where insulin is not produced properly in the body resulting in damage to the body. In severe cases where it is poorly managed diabetes can lead to damage to the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, eyes and nerves.

It is estimated that up to 60% of type 2 diabetes could be prevented by proper management and a healthy lifestyle. Eating healthy and exercising regularly is paramount in managing your diabetes effectively.

Physio Optimum in partnership with our exercise physiologist Thomas Adler, run specific exercise classes for patients with diabetes. The classes are aimed at showing you how to exercise correctly and in a way that helps lower your blood glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure levels.

We currently run classes at our Morphett Vale clinic.
